The second level of a duplex apartment is fully gutted to renew the tired original 1980s interior finishes. The layout was also modified extensively to create an open layout where the kitchen and the living area can be visually connected.
New soapstone finishes, custom millwork, a La Cornue range round out the new high end kitchen. New custom herringbone flooring in a lightly darkened white oak replace the original flooring throughout. The living room has new Workstead lighting, new recessed ceiling lighting throughout. The end result is a main floor that has an inviting and airiness to it that is tailored specifically to the clien'ts needs.
